Ralph M. Kramer earned a Bachelors degree in 1942 and a Masters degree in Social Work in 1946 from the University of California,
Berkeley. From 1946 through 1961 Kramer was active as a social worker, family service agency executive and county planning
officer. Kramer was the first person to earn a Ph.D. in the School of Social Welfare at the University of California, Berkeley
in 1964, where he later became a professor from 1973-1991. His research and writings concentrate on the behavior in non-profit
organizations.
