Incomplete transcript of 1728 report prepared by Rivera, Governor of Tlaxcala and subsequently Governor of Guatemala, on the
basis of his 1724-1728 inspection of the northern frontier presidios. It is divided into three main parts, in compliance with
Viceroy Casafuerte's request for an account of presidio conditions as Rivera found them, conditions upon his departure, and
measures advisable for their improvement. Stresses salaries and prices, foreshadows the noted 1729 "Reglamento para todos
los Presidios de las Provincias Internas ... " Followed by copies of related documents (1722-1729), including a royal decree,
viceregal statements, a letter from Juan de Oliván Rebolledo, Military Auditor General, and approval of the report by Palacios,
the Fiscal.
