Reel 1: Chronology. Chronology of events through the first four weeks of the occupation at Wounded Knee, the declaration of an independant Oglala Nation and the armed struggle with U.S. Marshalls. Includes Dennis Banks, a director of AIM; Carter Camp; William Kunstler and Meredith Quinn, legal advisors; and Russell Means, a leader of AIM. Track 1: 618 ft., track 2: 585 ft. -- Reel 2: History and philosophy of AIM. Carter Camp, one of the founders of AIM, talks about the oppression of the Native American and the civil rights struggle. Followed by an interview at KPFA with San Francisco AIM people and people from White Cloud Lodge in Oakland. This program includes a phone interview with Vernon Belcourt from Rapid City, S.D. Belcourt is National Director of AIM. Track 1: 833 ft., track 2: 841 ft. -- Reel 3: Interview with Crow Dog. Spiritual advisor for the American Indian Movement and the Independent Oglala Nation discusses the Wounded Knee takeover. Also includes statements by Ron Harvey and Mark Tutletaub, journalists who reported the occupation.
