Abstract:
Ratcliff discusses the architectural practice and principled philosophy of his father, Walter H. Ratcliff, exploring the relationship
of the first two generations of Ratcliff architects to Bay Region architects such as Maybeck and Wurster. They discuss social
planning, growth, and development concerns of Berkeley, as well as the city's cultural life.
