Abstract:
Album contains reproductions of photographs documenting flood damage to various sections of Union Pacific Railroad lines from
the Los Angeles area eastward to the Las Vegas area following winter storms of 1938. Images document damage to the Main Line
as well as the Pasadena, Glendale, San Pedro, Anaheim, Rialto, and St. Thomas branches. Images primarily depict the railroads
and surrounding grounds, with little emphasis placed on neighboring communities. Includes aerial views taken above railroad
lines in the Mojave Desert. A few photographs picture lines of other railroad companies, including Southern Pacific and Atchison,
Topeka & Santa Fe.
