Philip Kutner (1926-) of San Mateo, was Chairman of the Northern California District of the Der Arbeter-Ring for 15 years.
He collected the records in this collection to celebrate the Golden Anniversary of the Maurice Savin Branch of Northern California
of the Workmens Circle (Arbeiter Ring).
The Workmen's Circle or Der Arbeter Ring is an American Jewish nonprofit organization started in 1900 by Yiddish-speaking
immigrants from Easter Europe. The organization contiues to be active today in promoting social and economic justice, Jewish
community and education, and Ashkenazic culture.
