by "Digger" Indians of the Sacramento Valley; skulls, tools, and baskets found in the cliff dwellings of the San Marcos Canyon;
and implements and ornaments. (The term "Digger" usually was applied to Shoshone Indians, but was sometimes extended to other
tribes.).
