Abstract:
Chiefly photographs of ships and shipyards as well as machinery and facilities from the late 1880s to about 1920. Some views
are related to the Union Iron Works (machinery manufactured, and two crowd scenes at the 1904 sale of the company to Charles
Schwab). Ships, launchings, and progress photographs in shipyards document Pacific Coast Shipbuilding and the shipyard of
Moore & Scott Iron Works in Oakland, Calif. and a few images related to the later Moore Shipbuilding Co. One panorama of
the storage yard and company buildings (probably from WWI era), some other broad views also included.
