Peter J. Barber was born Nov. 26, 1830 and died Jan. 27, 1905. Barber came to San Francisco from Ohio via Panama in 1852.
He was mayor of Santa Barbara in 1880-1881 and 1890-1891. Barber was also an architect, and designed many buildings in Santa
Barbara.
