Title:
Photographic negatives from the Franz Schurmann papers
Creator/Contributor:
Schurmann, Franz, 1926-2010, creator
Abstract:
Chiefly unidentified rolls of film. Many, if not all, are believed to be from Schurmann's research travels in Afghanistan
in the late 1950s. His work there focused on the Hazara people, and resulted in the 1962 book The Mongols of Afghanistan.
A few film cannisters have single words penciled on them, and those that are legible note "Kabul", "Herat", "Mazar", and possibly
"Balkh". Some rolls may be from Yugoslavia ("Yugo"), and from India ("India"? and "Pal-i").
