Nellie May Brown, a nurse from Los Angeles, Calif., served as a member of the Los Angeles Examiner Relief Corps. The Relief
Corps arrived in Oakland on April 19, 1906, to assist in the aftermath of the earthquake and fire.
Transferred from the Nellie May Brown materials relating to the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and fire and her family (BANC
MSS 99/173).
