Abstract:
Trading cards depicting 134 photographers, most of them American, prominent circa the mid-1970s. Light-hearted portraits of
subjects posing as baseball players in action, most of them wearing the cap of a Major League Baseball team associated with
the city where the photographer was based or born. Backs of cards are printed with personal information resembling that found
on traditional baseball cards -- i.e. height, weight, place of birth, home, throws, bats, etc.; other information more pertinent
to the subject's photographic practice -- e.g. FC (favorite camera), FD (favorite developer), FP (favorite paper), FF (favorite
film) and FPh (favorite photographer); and a printed statement, often humorous, by the subject. Among the numerous well-known
photographers represented are Ansel Adams, Ed Ruscha, Manuel Alvarez Bravo, Judy Dater, Ira Nowinski, Minor White, Aaron Siskind,
Arthur Tress, Arnold Newman, Edmund Teske, Imogen Cunningham, Beaumont Newhall, Wynn Bullock, Bunny Yeager, John Szarkowski,
