Contains bylaws and minutes of annual shareholder meetings, beginning with the first held on Sept. 2, 1878, as well as miscellaneous
correspondence, deeds, agreements, and other title records for claims recorded by George Edwards in 1880, and in 1882 with
F. Souchet. A 1932 map by Uren shows the Mount Blanc claim with respect to the distinct, local geology. Includes a 1926 petition
for trusteeship, and a history of the company's incorporation prepared in 1930. Also includes miscellaneous stock certificates,
proxies, assessments, receipts, and property tax records, which were often delinquent.

Note:
Mount Blanc Mining Co. was formed in 1878 by A. Gauthier, a Frenchman. The works were located in the Virgin Valley District
of North Bloomfield, with the principal place of business at 90 Main St., Grass Valley, both in Nevada Co., Calif. Early principals,
Gauthier, H. Bush, and A.B. Brady worked diligently to fund the mine, which ultimately never produced substantial quantities
of gold. They also withstood a patent challenge by a counter-claimant, another Frenchman, named DeBour.
