estate prospects in San Francisco. Also included is personal correspondence and ephemera, such as invitations, insurance documents,
and awards.

Louis Robert Lurie was born in Chicago on September 6, 1888. He worked as a newsboy and then went into the printing business.
After spending time as a printer in Seattle he arrived in San Francisco in 1914. He married Babette Greenbaum and they had
one son, Robert Alfred Lurie. Lurie became a successful real estate developer and theatrical producer in San Francisco and
New York and a noted philanthropist. Lurie died on September 6, 1972.
