James Harvey Lowery (November 15, 1850-November 12, 1910) was born in Illinois. On November 22, 1871 he was married to Mary
Jane Hewston (June 28, 1851-May 7, 1917), also of Illinois. They moved to Butte County, California, where they had five children,
all of whom preceded them in death. They are buried in Chico Cemetery.
