Abstract:
A signed autographed letter from Dreibelbis, Shasta City [Calif.], February 7, 1854, to an un-named addressee, written to
suggest the examination of a possible route for a Pacific railroad (2 p.) Two enclosures are a manuscript map of his route
across the Sierra Nevada from the Humboldt River to the Sacramento Valley, by Honey Lake Valley and Noble's Pass (72 x 21
cm.) and a description of the country over which he passed (4 p.) Photostats of the letter and enclosures are also included.
