Abstract:

Record of her journey by wagon train, 1862 Apr. 27-Oct 8, to Stockton, Calif. by way of north bank of the Platte River, Fort Laramie, Sweetwater River, Lander Cut-off, Humboldt River, Carson Valley, Ebbetts Pass Road, and Murphy's. Besides a transcript of this diary, the collection includes a transcript of the diary of George A. Gould, 1874-1875, and annotated maps showing the route taken by the family of Jane Gould from Iowa to Calif. in 1862.
Filmed copy is preceded by a typed biographical note by T.T. Tourtillott. Remaining filmed pages contain school reports of Frank H. Gould. Film also contains ledger, 1856, of A.L. Gould and A.N. Holbrook, Waucoma, Iowa, with later accounts, 1873-1874, of George A. Gould in California, and a typed transcript of the diary.
