Abstract:
Materials taken from eighteen scrapbooks that relate to Harold S. Dobbs. Three scrapbooks related to his business interests
(including drive-in restaurants and bowling alleys); nine related to his career as a supervisor on the San Francisco Board
of Supervisors (1951-1967), and six related to his bids to be mayor of San Francisco in 1963, 1967, and 1971. The collection
not only provides an interesting political history of San Francisco and Dobbs, but also provides some interesting information
on the political-related activities which Harold's wife, Annette, undertook on his behalf.

Note:
To preserve many of the contents of the scrapbooks and to make them more accessible, items from the scrapbooks were taken
from them and placed in acid-free folders and boxes. The number and title of the scrapbook and the individual page number
where each individual item came from has been identified and recorded. The Western Jewish History Center microfilmed the scrapbooks
before items were removed from them, moreover, so that there is a historical record of how the scrapbooks were originally
arranged and appeared.
