Collection mainly includes family portraits and snapshots. Subjects of portraits include Samuel Jackson Holmes, Lottie Cochran,
Mary Cochran (daughter), Sarah Taber (Holmes) Weaver, Eli Taber Weaver (son), Capt. Henry Taber, Samuel Leonard, Phoebe Ann
Hathoway Taber, Joseph Alonzo Allen, Timmy Benjamin Taber, Avis Merab (Holmes) Allen, Sarah C. Taber Holmes, Edward Taber
Allen, Albert Lee Allen, Charlotte Allen, Joseph Holmes, Mary Holmes, and other members of Samuel Jackson Holmes' family.
A few photographs of the Holmes family house are also included. Other family pictures include baby pictures, weddings, travel,
homes of the Allens, etc.
BANC PIC 1965.023--fALB: Photographs taken at the launching ceremonies of the SS William M. Ritter. Photos not captioned,
but apparently include Mrs. W.M Ritter, Mrs. Samuel H. Holmes, and Mrs. Joseph Grinnell. The launching took place at the Permanente
Metals Corp. Shipyard No. 2, Richmond, Calif. on May 3, 1944.
Non-portrait views include many postcards from around the United States, views of trees, trains, logging, houses, Catalina
Island, Ontario, Calif., etc. Many scenes from the University of California at Berkeley are present, including views of military
training, the library interior, and other general campus views.
