Abstract:

Consists of correspondence, manuscripts and clippings of her writings, and scrapbooks detailing Schreiber's literary pursuits in and around the San Francisco Bay Area and the successful 1944 campaign of Stanton Arthur Coblentz for California Poet Laureate. Also includes a small amount of family papers including a biography of her written by her daughter, Beryl Schreiber Jespersen.

Hazel Florence Snell, born July 2, 1886 in San Jose, California, was an active poet, dramatist and journalist in the Bay Area for nearly fifty years. She was married twice, first to Benjamin Schreiber and then to Harold C. Holmes.
