Records of an officer of the Little River Redwood Company of Crannel (Humbolt Co.) Calif. Files relate to logging, the lumber
industry, and real estate in Northern California. Most files date from the late 1930s to the late 1950s and include files
on the California Redwood Association and legal matters relating to timber and land sales. Also included are extensive files
relating to the merger with Hammond Lumber Comapany.

Harry Cole was the manager of the Little River Redwood Company, which merged with the Hammond Lumber Company to form the Hammond
and Little River Redwood Company. Cole was born in Canada and came to work for the company when it was organized in the early
1910s. He headed the logging, milling, and marketing operations until the merger with Hammond. The company was later acquired
by the Georgia-Pacific Corporation.
