Abstract:
Bailey's recollections regarding his military service intended for updating George W. Cullum's Biographical register of the
officers and graduates of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y. Contains four drafts written between 1909-1918, including
pages from his personal notebook, two additional manuscript drafts, and a typescript supplement. Bailey describes his military
service, primarily in the Nez Perce War, but also in the Bannock War and Spanish-American War battles in the Philippines.
He also summarizes his assignments from 1880 to 1898 in Washington Territory, Virginia, Kansas, Wyoming, Utah, Nebraska, Ohio,
Arizona, and New York.
