appears posing in her garden in a few photographs. Another woman who is perhaps Murdoch also appears with Baylor in one image.

Helen Messinger Murdoch was born in Boston, Mass. in 1860. She worked, lectured and exhibited in London, England, where she
became a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society in 1912. She was an accomplished portrait and travel photographer and made
extensive use of the autochrome process.
Margaret Baylor was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was an active figure in the settlement house movement. In 1914 Baylor
founded the Recreation Center in Santa Barbara, Calif.
