Bruce Franklin was a former professor of English at Stanford University. He was fired in 1972 for allegedly inciting a riot
during an anti-Vietnam War protest on campus. He was hired by Rutgers University in 1975 and has been the John Cotton Dana
Professor of English and American Studies since 1987. HIs research interests range from the Vietnam War and its afteraffects
to prison literature, science fiction, and environmentalism.
