Abstract:
Chiefly snapshots of Esther and Fenner Fuller's everyday leisure activities and events associated with their involvement in
the museum and art communities of the East Bay. Locations depicted in Fuller homes in Oakland and Fresno; Mills College; and
the Oakland Museum of California. Includes a small number of studio portraits of the Fullers. Also includes photographs depicting
Esther's sculpture and other artworks, and the sculpture of Beniamino Bufano. Also includes family photographs of previous
generations of Torosian and Fuller families, some of whom were located in Fresno and Turlock (Torosian), and Attleboro, Mass.
(Fuller). Includes a small number of photographs depicting Beniamino Bufano, Louis Siegriest and Darius Milhaud, and a photograph
of Fenner Fuller's restaurant. Includes a halftone printing plate of a portrait of Esther Fuller by Johan Hagemeyer. Individuals
depicted in cased photographs are unidentified.

Esther Torosian Fuller (November 5, 1902-October 10,1980), also known as Esther Fenner Fuller, was an accomplished Armenian-American
painter, ceramic artist, and a well-known patron of the arts in Oakland, California, particularly of the Oakland Art Museum.
She served on the Oakland Library and Museum Commission for six years from 1957 to 1963. Her husband, Fenner Fuller (January
13, 1902-April 30, 1964), owned Fenner Fuller's, a restaurant located in the Lake Merritt area of Oakland that also served
as an informal art gallery.
