Facsimiles of Vizcaino and Junipero Serra documents for Adolph Sutro: Seville, Spain, 1883-1884Abstract:
Three facsimiles of different pre-American Californian documents, two by Junipero Serra and one by Sebastián Vizcaíno, in
Spanish. On each, a note says in English that they were "photographed from the original the "Archivo General de Indias" de
Servilla under Royal Order dated Madrid December 26th, 1883 for Adolph Sutro, Esq. of San Francisco California. Another note
above this one reads, in Spanish, that these were formed from original on January 21, 1884, and is signed "José Villaamil
y Castro." Printed at the bottom of each quarto sheet, in Spanish, it says that each sheet was engraved and executed in at
the typographic and lithographic establishment, "El Porvenir" in Seville in 1884.
