Frank Aleamon Lynch was a California journalist and founder of the Oakland Enquirer. He retired as a journalist in 1897 to
become the Superintendant of the San Francisco Mint. In 1909 he was appointed the Director of the United States Mint.
Edwin Ralph Leach, son of Frank Aleamon Leach, studied mining at the University of California, Berkeley before becoming the
Melter and Refiner at the San Francisco Mint.
