Apparently compiled by the Foster's and Bickford's companies, as part of their corporate images files, or by an advertising
firm associated with them. Many Foster's views by Moulin Studios.

Many of the photographs exhibit evidence of being used in publication.
Also present are some adveritising illustration proofs and typescript documents relating to Brown & Williamson tobacco. It
is possible all materials share provenance and originate with a single advertising firm.

Samuel L. Bickford, of New York-based Bickford's, along with other investors, purchased the White Lunch System (a Pacific
coast restaurant chain) in 1924. They renamed the compnay Foster Lunch System, for co-owner Lamont Foster. In 1932 the Foster
chain became a subsidiary of Bickford's, Inc. (cf. The Bickford story, in American Restaurant Magazine, Aug. 1956)
