Francis W. Hutchinson (1910-1990) taught mechanical engineering at U.C.Berkeley from 1940-1974, with brief stints at Purdue
University (1945-1946), University of Gadjahmadah, Jogjakarta, Indonesia (1959-1961), and Indian Institute of Technology,
Kanpur, India. He wrote 14 books and consulted on the design of radiant heating systems, on temperature control for cargo
on shipboard, and on health effects of environmental conditions.
