13 one-page letters are from C.M. Goethe, a noted Sacramento philanthropist, to Mr. Holmes (8 letters) and the Mother Lode
Chapter of the Sierra Club (5 letters) where Holmes was in a leadership position. Photocopies of 19 "Hike of the Week" columns
(Feb 5 .- June 25, 1969) written by Frederick B. Holmes and published in The East Yolo Record in West Sacramento. Also includes
a photocopy of a newspaper clipping about C.M. Goethe from The Sacramento Bee on the occasion of his 91st birthday.
