Edward Abenheim Colman was born in Yokohama, Japan, on September 22, 1910. He received his bachelor's degree in forestry in
1932, and his doctoral degree in soil science in 1942, both from the University of California, Berkeley. He spent his entire
career with the United States Forest Service in California. In 1951-1952 Colman worked for a research associate with The Conservation
Foundation, which resulted in a book entitled "Vegetation and Watershed Management." He died in 1956.
Forms part of the History of science and technology collection.
