Edgar Whittlesy Camp, an organizer of the North Dakota state government, came to California in 1894. He was a member of the
California Assembly in 1903 and an attorney for the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad Company from 1904. His son, Charles
L. Camp, was Professor of Paleontology at U.C. Berkeley.
