comments on life and customs of "creole" populations and Russian Orthodox Church; from Montana, l879-l880, during Indian campaigns,
describing camp life, skirmishes and encounters with Sioux, surrender of Rain-in-the-Face; from China, l900, with detailed
comments on political chaos in aftermath of Boxer Rebellion and activities of missionaries; on tour of duty in Philippines,
l900-l90l, describing Philippine life and customs. Box 2: Letters written to Huggins, including some from General Nelson A.
Miles, U.S. War Department and U.S. Army; official documents including special and general orders and itineraries for tours
of duty; papers relating to Civil War; miscellaneous papers concerning Philippines; reminiscences by Huggins family members;
