Abstract:
Three diaries covering July 1851 through December 1868. The first, for 1851, is very full and detailed, concerning mining
activities in the area and gold discovery, politics, religion, Indians, military, wars, and life in the mining towns, including
hangings, law and order, violence, and vigilance committees. The second and third, for 1856-1860 and 1861-1868, contain brief
entries only, mostly relating to occupation and payments. Related material concerns Bradbury's estate, family, and the town
of Diamond Springs, California. Oversize folder contains grave rubbing for tombstone, E.(J?) Bradbury, 1881.
