Photographs taken during the expedition led by Nathaniel Galloway and Julius Stone to navigate the Green and Colorado Rivers,
Sept. 12-Nov. 19, 1909. The Galloway-Stone expedition is generally considered to be the first running of the Green and Colorado
Rivers that was undertaken purely for pleasure. Members of the expedition were Nathaniel Galloway, a trapper and boat builder
from Vernal, Utah; Julius Stone, an industrialist from Ohio; Raymond Cogswell, the brother-in-law of Julius Stone who served
as photographer; C.C. Sharp; and Seymour Dubendorff.
