Title:
Cuba and Mexico, 1891
Creator/Contributor:
Steadman & Trager
Abstract:
Album includes many snapshots and fewer professional photographs. The snapshots, which may primarily be of Cuba, are views
of shoreline, ships and boats (some with American flags), dock workers hauling in boats, passengers, countryside, a couple
in a buggy, interior and exterior views of large and lavishly decorated houses (with parrots sitting on chairs.) Other snapshots
show bathers at the shore, workers, military drills, streets, carts, oxen, peddlers, street markets, men, women, children,
lumber, and a train. Professional photos are of Mexico and show pre-Columbian ruins in the Yucatan (and elsewhere?) and posed
portraits, mainly of women from various regions.
