Includes views of the steamer John L. Stephens, scenes in Mazatlan, Guaymas, Cape San Lucas, Arizona, and at the Colorado Mines, believed to be the Cerro Colorado mines of Arizona's Arivaca mining district. Several views include groups of Papago Indians, including chief Con Quien. One small image on mount no.8 shows a large format camera at Fuerte Mazatlan.

Mounts bear name H.H. Edgerton, and several are inscribed to Capt. Edgar Wakeman. One inscribed to Master Ed Wakeman. Captioned in manuscript. One image bears initials "HHE" in negative.
One mount dated 1866. Others undated.
Some images in the Arivaca region may have been taken by or in the company of William A. Bell of the Kansas Pacific railway survey.
Photographer H.H. Edgerton may be a relation of Henry A. Edgerton of Calif., to whom Capt. Wakeman refers in his: The log of an ancient mariner : being the life and adventures of Captain Edgar Wakeman (p.293)
