Contains correspondence with friends and family, including Annette Rosenshine, Paul Padgette, Robin Blaser, Desmond Arthur,
and Evelyn Statsinger-Cohen, concerning daily life, psychotherapy, and other personal interests. Of note, are two letters
from Alice B. Toklas, and one from Pauline Kael, concerning Annette Rosenshine. Also includes Rambo's poems, short stories,
essays, autobiographical writings, and memoirs. With these is a small amount of family correspondence, and other personal
papers concerning Rambo's status as a conscientious objector during WWII, and legal papers relating to his name change in
1945.

Note:
Born as Herbert Rambo on July 6, 1915 in Worcester, Mass. Chris Rambo was part of the Waldport, Or. group of conscientious
objectors, which included poet, William Everson, and printer, Adrian Wilson, among others. Rambo identified himself as a gay
man in the late 1940s, and settled in San Francisco shortly after leaving Camp Waldport.
