Ben J. Weiss, of Oakland, Calif., was, for a time, the secretary and treasurer of Oakland's Temple Beth Abraham. He also helped
the Jewish community in the Bay Area raise money, serving as the vice-chairman of Oakland's general solicitation effort for
the United Jewish Appeal. His wife was the president of the congregation's sisterhood.
