Collection consists of approximately 175 applications to the Advisory Pardon Board of California from prisoners at Folsom
and San Quentin prisons. The files, dating from 1916 to 1922, are arranged alphabetically by prisoner surname. Each file consists
of a description of the crime(s) committed, information on the original sentence of the prisoner, prison record, and parole
record (if applicable). These files also often have biographical sketches and information about the familial and social milieu
of each prisoner, as well as a mugshot (in most cases). Files range in size from a couple of pages to over twenty pages.
