The American Communications Association was a CIO-affliated union for telephone and telegraph workers founded in 1937 but
active mainly in the 1940s. Its predecessor organization was the American Radio Telegraphists Association. In 1950, the ACA
was expelled from the CIO charges of affiliation with the communist movement. The ACA merged with the International Brotherhood
of Teamsters in 1966.
