Notes written for H.H. Bancroft's History of California commenting on various subjects : lands (particularly relating to the
missions and ranchos of Alta California), roads, municipal government, census records, Indians of California, secularization
of the mission, the Padres-Hijar colonization scheme, early governors, Indian uprisings, Solis and Micheltorena revolt, hide
and tallow trade, and agriculture.
