Ferguson, Milton J. (Milton James) -- 1879-1954
Correspondence

Note:

Robert Frost was born in San Francisco on March 26, 1874. Following his father's death in 1885, his family moved to Lawrence, Massachusetts. Frost taught in various schools and colleges on the East Coast, briefly attempted farming, and attended several colleges without graduating (although he received numerous honorary degrees). Selling his first poem in 1894, Frost became one of America's major poets, his work alternately described as showing the folksiness of rural America or the bleakness of modern life. He died on January 29, 1963.
Milton James Ferguson (1879-1954) graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1906, served as a librarian there from 1902 to 1907, and was elected the first president of the Oklahoma Library Association. Ferguson was the California State Librarian from 1917 to 1930 and later became president of the American Library Association.
