Abstract:
Deeds for property in seven California counties conveyed by San Francisco attorney Thomas B. Bishop and his wife to the Thomas
B. Bishop Company shortly before his death. These documents were returned by the San Francisco law firm of Walter Slack to
the Thomas B. Bishop Company in 1950.

Thomas B. Bishop was born in East Providence, RI on June 20, 1840. He came to San Francisco in about 1865 after graduating
from Brown University and began to practice law-his firm was originally known as Thornton & Bishop and changed names numerous
times over the years. Bishop acquired property all over California, often as payment for property claims he litigated. Bishop
died in San Francisco on February 6, 1906.
