Abstract:
Chiefly stereographic views of Yosemite by various publishers. Most, with the exception of some of the E. & H.T. Anthony views,
are in poor condition. Also present are several 20th century views relating to Modoc Indian culture, ten 19th century stereographs
of the Modoc War, 1873 (by Heller, published by Watkins); snapshots and other views of the buildings and grounds of the University
of California, Berkeley campus, including the Greek Theater, approximately 1900; several dozen early 20th century postcards
of northern and southern California scenes, a woolen shop on Sacramento Street, and several views of Lincoln, Calif., and
of Denver, Colo. A few southwestern views are present, including an 1870s(?) view of a survey party camp in New Mexico by
Henry Brown (in poor condition).
