Annie Ellicott Kennedy Bidwell, born in Meadville, PA, June 30, 1839, was the daughter of Joseph Camp Griffith Kennedy of
Washington, D.C. She married John Bidwell on April 16, 1868 and came to Rancho Chico, Butte County. She was a philanthropist
and civic leader, especially interested in the Indians, church affairs, temperance movements, and women suffrage. She died
in Chico on March 9, 1918.
