Bertrand Harris Bronson (1902-March 14, 1986) was a professor in the English Department at the University of California, Berkeley
for 43 years. He was a Rhodes Scholar, Guggenheim Fellow (3 times), historian, critic, folklorist, and musicologist. Bronson
specialized in the works of Geoffrey Chaucer and Samuel Johnson, with his book Johnson on Shakespeare being published shortly
after his death.
