Abstract:
Contains items relating to the service of James F. Aduddell, Sergeant in Company F, 17th US Infantry during the Spanish-American
War. There are 11 letters from Aduddell written from Columbus, Ohio, New York, Puerto Rico and the Philippines. There are
an additional 6 letters to Aduddell while he was stationed in the Philippines, his pocket diary from 1899 and 13 letters by
Aduddell written after his discharge in 1900. Other items include two booklets issued by the National Relief Commission (a
songbook and a Spanish phrasebook), 3 sepia-toned photographs, various newspaper clippings, a handwritten train schedule and
