The collection consists of the complete internal writings of the Committee for Fundamental Rights and Democracy from its founding in 1979 until 1998.

The Committee for Fundamental Rights and Democracy was founded by Klaus (1935-2019) and Hanne Vack (1940-) in 1979. The socialist, pacifist group was based in Sensbachtal, West Germany. In 1996, the Vacks were awarded the Fritz Bauer Prize by the Humanist Union. Today, the group continues its civil disobedience and activism in support of peace, democracy, and human rights.Das Komitee für Grundrechte und Demokratie wurde 1979 von Klaus Vack (1935–2019) und Hanne Vack (geb. 1940) gegründet. Die sozialistisch-pazifistische Gruppe hatte ihren Sitz in Sensbachtal, Westdeutschland. 1996 wurden die Vacks von der Humanistischen Union mit dem Fritz-Bauer-Preis ausgezeichnet. Heute setzt die Gruppe ihren zivilen Ungehorsam und Aktivismus zur Unterstützung von Frieden, Demokratie, und Menschenrechten fort.
