Biography

Josiah Gallup came to California in 1849 via Panama. In 1854, he married Julia Ann Gallup, his cousin. He worked in Sacramento as a freight operator to the gold mines and served as a Sacramento city alderman. He died in Sacramento on November 18, 1858.
